Appointment of Rev. Fr. Antony Prince Panengaden as Bishop of Adilabad (06-08-2015)

His Holiness Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of H. E. Rt. Rev. Joseph Kunnath, CMI, from the pastoral care of the Eparchy of Adilabad, and has appointed Rev. Fr. Antony Prince Panengaden, of the clergy of Adilabad, as the new Bishop of Adilabad.
This ecclesiastical provision was made public in Rome on Thursday, 6th August, 2015, at noon local time, corresponding to 15:30 hours, Indian Standard Time.
Rev. Fr. Antony Prince Panengaden was born on 13th March, 1976, at Arimpur, in the Archdiocese of Trichur. He studied Philosophy at DharmaramVidyaKshetram, Bangalore (1998-2001); graduated from the University of Calicut (2001-2003); studied Theology at Ruhalay Seminary, Ujjain (2003-2007). He was ordained Priest on 25th April, 2007, for the Eparchy of Adilabad. Later, he obtained a Doctorate in Biblical Theology from Urbaniana University, Rome. He served the Diocese as Assistant Parish Priest of the Cathedral Parish; priest-in-charge of Saligaon Mission Station. Since 2015 he is the Protosyncellus of the Eparchy of Adilabad and Parish Priest of the Cathedral.
